BIRTHDAY MORNING WALK (Haiku)

These poems were written February 9, my birthday and that of a young
"birthday-sharer", a 5th grader at the school where I teach
.

I Frost on grass leaves Earth white-haired. Now 56, I'm white-haired, too. Both of us ageless. II Moon sets on one side of me As Sun rises on the other. I'm witness, not juggler. III I'm that old moon going over the hill. My young friend rises like the Sun. Perfect balance maintained.
