INTRODUCTION This little book of poems was a modest effort, I felt upon "handcrafting" several dozen copies and sending them out to various friends and Baba Centers in 1985. Still, I felt proud because the book expressed my unique relationship to Baba. I had received a new life from Him, and in that life been raised from the cradle, so to speak, at His various Centers and by His selfless, indefatigable lovers. CANTICLES FOR MEHER represented a small gift I was able to give back. I was thrilled and shocked one spring day to open my Richmond, California mailbox and find a letter with the return address, "Mehera" at Meherazad, India. Baba's beloved and chief disciple, it turned out, had enjoyed and appreciated the poems. Nearly twenty years have
passed and I have not yet complied with Mehera's wish for CANTICLES
to be widely distributed and read. Perhaps through these Internet pages
she will get that wish.
