ON THE WAR Outside my window Silent deer pad by And birds of leisure Sing that all is well. Now, at my command A genie of technology Opens another window, And here I witness Hell. Oh, how I wish There was a dial On my TV To let me stanch The flow of blood I see, To tune the minds Of Presidents and kings, And turn hot thoughts To brighter things. But all that's way Beyond my reach. It's by example That we teach, And so I turn Unto my life And my relation With my wife: If we can live In harmony, Our life will help All that we see.
